VINTAGE TURKISH POSTAGE STAMP
Out of circulation. Single stamp
100 kurus stamp printed in 1974 by Turk Tarih Kurumu Basimevi (Turkish History Foundation Printinghouse) in an effort to promote the industrial development in Turkey. There is a giant sprocket surrounding the Turkish map (in brown) on the stamp. And we all know sprockets symbolize industry like no bodies business. :)
Kurus was worth 100th of a Turkish Lira (TL) before the removal of the 6 zeros from the end to start the new lira. It has been long out of circulation.
